Mezzan Selected for 2022/2023 Kuwait CFA Institute Research Challenge

Kuwait, November 15, 2022: Mezzan Holding KSC, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of food, beverage, FMCG, and pharmaceutical products in the Gulf, announced today that it was selected by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Kuwait for 2022/2023 CFA Institute Research Challenge.

Mezzan Holding welcomed students from five universities in Kuwait on November 14 for the 2022 CFA Institute Research Challenge, held annually as part of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Kuwait’s initiatives to provide university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis.

This annual global equity research challenge encourages students to work in teams, and aims to create a real-world experience for the students as they assume the role of research analysts and are judged on their ability to value a company, write a research report, and present their recommendations.

Mezzan Holding Group Chief Finance Officer Nabil Ben Ayed said: “We are proud to be selected by CFA Society Kuwait for this year’s CFA Institute Research Challenge which offers students the unique opportunity to develop and present an equity research report and compete on a global basis.”

Mezzan held an informational session which consisted of a presentation delivered by Mezzan Holding Group Chief Finance Officer, Nabil Ben Ayed and Mezzan Holding Investor Relations Manager, Omar Fouda on the activities of the company and its key financials. The session was followed by a Q&A session with the five participating teams, which include Kuwait University (KU), American University of Kuwait (AUK), Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST), the American University of the Middle East (AUM), and Algonquin College – Kuwait (AC).

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition organized by the CFA Society community that provides university students with mentorship and hands-on training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each year, a ‘Subject Company’ is selected for the challenge based on its merit and standing in the flagship of the Boursa Kuwait markets, the ‘Premier’ Market, which targets companies with high liquidity and medium to big market capitalization. The winning team advances to a sub-regional competition hosted by CFA Institute in the Americas; the Asia Pacific; and the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions. Regional winners then compete in the Global Final, where one team emerges as the global champion.
